HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES:
When drilling metal, there are a number of safety rules that must be followed. They are:
1. Only one person at a machine at one time
2. Tie long hair back
3. Know how to turn machine off
4. Wear safety goggles
5. Tuck in loose clothing and roll back sleeves
6. Wear apron to protect clothing
7. Make sure the drill bit is securely in chuck
8. Clamp workpiece in suitable work vice
9. Remove chuck key
10. Close chuck guard

EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON
It is important to know where the emergency stop button is on the machine that you are using. If you need to stop the machine quickly this is the button that you press.

CLAMPING THE WORK
THE DANGER ZONE!
When drilling ensure you stand upright and that your head is not close to the moving parts of the machine (drill bit and chuck)
If you have long hair it may get caught in the moving parts of the machine
If the drill bit was to break it may hit you in the face
If the work piece is to come loose it may hit you in the face
If you are unsure of this please ask your teacher or technician
